英国签证中心不再承认托福成绩

英国大学纷纷发来邮件，说明了2014年4月17日之后托福成绩对于申请英国签证Tier 4的影响。具体内容如下：

You may have recently seen information about the ETS TOEFL Internet Based Test and the fact that it has been removed from the UK Home Office’s list of SELT (Secure English Language Test) providers.  This means that the test is no longer accepted for Tier 4 visa application purposes.  

If you have not taken TOEFL, then this change will obviously not affect you.   However, if you have already taken a TOEFL Internet Based Test, or have booked a TOEFL Internet Based Test date, we understand that this news may be worrying for you, and so we would like to clarify the situation.

·         If you took the TOEFL Internet Based Test outside of the UK before the 17^th April 2014, you can still use your TOEFL certificate as proof of your English proficiency when you apply for your Tier 4 student visa so please do not worry.

·         If you took the TOEFL Internet Based Test after the 17^th April 2014, or if you are planning to take the test before you apply for a visa, please contact us and we will be happy to give you help and advice regarding alternative English language tests that you can take.  These include IELTS (http://www.ielts.org/test_takers_information.aspx) and PTE (http://pearsonpte.com/TestMe/Pages/TestMe.aspx)

对于该政策的解读：

1 如果你的托福成绩是在2014年4月17日之前获得，并且在有效期内，你仍然可以在英国签证Tier 4 visa的申请中使用托福成绩；

2 如果你的托福成绩是在2014年4月17日之后获得，如果你申请英国Tier 4 visa，你需要参加IELTS考试，并在申请签证是提交IELTS成绩；

3 学生仍然可以使用托福成绩申请英国的学校，学校对于托福成绩的承认度暂时未受到影响；只是拿到学校的offer后，申请英国签证之前，需要参加IELTS考试，并提供IELTS成绩。
