LSE ranked as top university in London and third in the UK

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has maintained its ranking as third best university in the UK and London’s leading institution in the Complete University Guide league tables for 2016.

The Guide assesses the UK’s 126 universities using markers such as student satisfaction and graduate prospects. LSE is named third in the UK, behind Cambridge and Oxford and the top university in London. The School is also placed in the top ten for eleven of the twelve subjects it offers.

伦敦政治经济学院在2016年最新的大学指南中保持了其在英国大学第三的位置，并且是伦敦地区的领先教育机构。该指南对英国126所大学进行了分数评估，例如学生的满意度以及毕业生的就业率。LSE排名第三，仅次于剑桥和牛津大学，而且在伦敦地区排名第一。

League table success

The University of St Andrews has been named best in Scotland and 5th in the UK in a higher education league table published today.

St Andrews is the only Scottish university to be ranked in the top 10 institutions in the UK in The Complete University Guide 2016.

St Andrews is ranked first in the UK in two subjects - Middle Eastern and African Studies and Divinity – and is in the top ten for 23 of the 25 subjects it teaches.

The rankings are based on ten key measures:  Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Entry Standards, Student: Staff Ratio; Spending on Academic Services; Spending on Student Facilities; Good Honours degrees achieved; Graduate Prospects and Completion.

£1.5m scholarship for postgraduate students

Durham University is offering £1.5m of scholarships for eligible postgraduate taught students in the academic year 2015/16.

The scholarships intend to support those students who are ordinarily under-represented in postgraduate education; perhaps because of financial barriers, disability, personal caring commitments or because an applicant lives in an area where progression to postgraduate education is less common.

杜伦大学为2015/16学年符合条件的授课研究生提供1500万英镑的奖学金。

这些奖学金将用来资助那些非代表性的学生，例如有财政困难的，残疾，委托个人护理或者那些居住在鲜有研究生教育的地方的学生。
