Gold medal-winning gymnast honoured for outstanding academic and sporting success

Bryony Page, a third year biology student of the UniversityofSheffield, is being awarded the prestigious Chancellor’s Medal 2014 in recognition of her outstanding sporting achievements together with her exceptional academic success.

She won the World Cup Individual Gold Medal inBulgariain 2012. In November 2013, Bryon was invited to compete in Denmark as part of Team GB at the World Cup where she won her second gold medal, beating two previous Olympic and World Champions. She also won Team Gold and finished fourth individually at the European Championships this year.

Student entrepreneurs Bethan Rimmington, 23, and Ellie Morrissey, 19, from theUniversityofSheffield, visitedBuckinghamPalaceto help launch the Queen’s Young Leaders award, a new programme searching for inspirational young people who are making a difference in their communities.

Arts venues based at the University of Southampton have been awarded more than £3m over three years (2015-18) by Arts Council England, as part of its National Portfolio funding programme.
